Preparing for Your First Dentist Visit
Preparing for your first dentist visit can be a little scary if you’ve never been to this dentist before. Here is some helpful information you can use in the interim.
Preparing for Your First Dentist Visit | What Should I Expect at My First Appointment?
When you arrive for your first appointment, you will be greeted by our receptionist who will provide you with the new patient intake form. You can relax in our waiting room, watch TV, and enjoy a coffee while you fill out the paperwork.
Once you’ve completed the paperwork, the doctor will perform a thorough cleaning and evaluation of your x-rays. Your dental and medical history will be discussed and an oral exam will be performed to check the soft tissue, gums, teeth, and existing restorations for decay. If necessary, we will suggest a comprehensive Buffalo dental treatment plan that’s right for you.

Preparing for Your First Dentist Visit | Treatment Planning
We always address immediate problems and provide recommendations for maintaining long-term oral health, so minor issues today don’t turn into larger issues in the future. As a dentist, I believe that good dental care begins with open communication, so your first visit will help us get acquainted with one another, and give me the opportunity to learn about your goals and desires for your Buffalo dental treatment.
If you have questions about our Buffalo dental treatment options, I always encourage patients to make a list ahead of time so you don’t forget anything on the day of your appointment. Include any concerns you might have or any oral health problems you have been experiencing.
My patients are my top priority, and I am happy to take as much time as needed to ensure I’ve addressed all your concerns. I look forward to meeting you at your first visit!
Preparing for Your First Dentist Visit | Do You Accept Dental Insurance?
We accept most dental insurances. We will fill out the forms for you and submit them on your behalf, and you will pay the balance. If you have dental insurance, we do not charge up front; we bill the insurance company and collect the copay afterwards. We will work with you to find a payment plan that fits your budget. We also offer CareCredit which has payment plans available with no interest for up to 5 years for most Buffalo dental treatment.
