What is Root Canal Therapy?
In the following educational dental video, Dr. Douglas Hamill discusses root canal therapy and how it is used to save abscessed teeth.
Root canal therapy is a procedure when a tooth is either dead or is having pain. And usually the pain is caused by decay, getting to the nerve. So a root canal procedure is when you want to save the tooth, you take out the nerve of the tooth, but you’re able to save the structure of the tooth, and then it’s often filled in and then crowned afterwards. But it’s just a procedure where you don’t want to take the tooth out. You’d rather save it, get the patient out of pain, not have to replace the tooth with, let’s say, an implant or some other procedure. So if you’re interested in a root canal, then just call our office at 31 Maple.
